Phosphorus (P)

Nitrogen and Phosphorus are fundamental nutrients in soil management and crop development. Unlike Nitrogen, which moves freely through the soil, Phosphorus binds strongly to soil particles and has low solubility, making it one of the most difficult elements to move through the soil and for plants to absorb.

When Phosphorus is not available to the root system, plants develop weaker roots, establish more slowly in the field, and struggle to reach other nutrients at depth. Choosing a Phosphorus fertilizer with high solubility and the right release mechanism is therefore key to successfully establishing any crop.

Solubility and Hydrolysis

Nutriphos products rely on a distinctive release mechanism. As soon as the granule comes into contact with soil moisture, the Phosphorus absorbs water and hydrolyzes, forming an acidic solution made up of three Phosphorus compounds. Two of these move immediately into the soil solution, available for direct root uptake, while the third acts as a nutrient “reserve”, covering the crop’s needs in later growth stages.

This mechanism, combined with the synergy between Ammoniacal Nitrogen and Sulphur, reduces Phosphorus fixation in the soil and increases fertilization efficiency compared with conventional phosphorus fertilizers.
